Rumchata Salted Caramel Martini
This one is for my fellow caramel lovers! Nothing beats a drink that’s both sweet and salty, and this would be a delish after-dinner dessert.
To make this cocktail, you dip the rim of a glass in caramel, followed by a mixture of sugar and salt. Then you drizzle some more caramel in the glass and pour in well-shaken salted caramel vodka and RumChata.
I think the salty/sweet rim on this one is necessary and would make it that much more delicious!
I’d take this drink over an actual snickerdoodle any day.
Ingredients are RumChata, Amaretto, Buttershots, and milk. The RumChata adds vanilla and cinnamon, Amaretto gives it depth and nuttiness, and Buttershots Butterscotch Schnapps gives it a rich butteriness. Truly all of the flavors you love in a snickerdoodle, but drinkable and boozy!

The summary is that I shake this drink in a cocktail shaker and serve it up in an iced martini glass.
Pineapple Coconut Rumchata Cocktail
This cocktail is basically a Pina Colada with RumChata, and I can’t imagine anything more delicious. It’s also so easy to make.
Just add pineapple juice, coconut milk, simple syrup, and RumChata to a shaker with ice, shake the bejesus out of it, and enjoy in a cup garnished with mint and pineapple pieces!
This recipe is a riff on a true classic: the White Russian.

Whenever I see RumChata listed as a cocktail ingredient, I instantly get excited. As far as sweet liqueurs go, its by far my favorite and it pairs with SO many different mixers.
These recipes all feature RumChata as a primary ingredient and are filled with creamy, dreamy goodness.
Theyre also extremely easy to make Im talking 4 ingredients or less! So they wont add any extra stress to your plate whether its the holidays or you just want a simple tasty drink and you want it ASAP.
Why We Like It
RumChata is very sweet, much like a cinnamon spin on Baileys with a little more complexity on the finish. We got it out of curiosity to make a Cinnamon Toast Crunch shot . Its at its best when balanced with bitter flavors, like in RumChata Coffee.

Cheesecake With Cream Cheese And Rumchata
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 32 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
- 15 graham crackers, crushed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F . Grease a 9 inch spring form pan. Mix the crushed graham crackers and melted butter together and press into the bottom of the pan. Beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Slowly mix in the eggs, sour cream, Rumchata, vanilla and flour until smooth. Transfer the mixture into the pan with the prepared crust. Bake for 1 hour. To prevent cracking, let the cheesecake cool in the oven, with the heat switched off, with the door closed, for 4-6 hours to prevent cracking. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
How To Make Horchata
Horchata varies in taste and ingredients throughout Latin America and Spain where it is very popular. In Mexico horchata is made from rice and cinnamon, sometimes with vanilla. In Honduras and El Salvador morro seeds are used instead of rice and in Puerto Rico its sesame seeds. There are a huge range of varieties with common ingredients including cocoa, cinnamon, sesame seeds, nutmeg and vanilla. Crushed nuts are also used include include peanuts, tigernuts cashes and almonds. Homemade horchata is usually strained before serving. The simple recipe below is made with rice milk. If you cannot get rice milk you can use the recipe that follows.

Salted Caramel Rumchata Martini
This salted caramel drink is a must-try for any salted caramel lover, as it is a delightful marriage of sweet and savory.
Its made with salted caramel vodka, Rumchata, caramel candy, and caramel syrup. That said, if youre not a caramel fan, its best to stay away from this one!
You can rim the glass with some coarse salt or sugar depending on your preference.
This recipe is for all of the pumpkin spice lovers out there who also want to get a little tipsy.
You can make this drink with pumpkin spice coffee, cream, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and whipped cream.
You can also use regular coffee and just add a little bit of pumpkin spice for extra pumpkin flavor.
Rumchata Frosting With Cream Cheese Frosting
- 2 lb package of confectioners sugar
- 5 tablespoons of Rumchata
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 12 ounces of cream cheese
Mix the butter and cream cheese until smooth and add the vanilla. Slowly add the sugar a little at a time. Mix in the Rumchata adjusting the amount to get the right consistency for the frosting.

Rumchata White Russian Directions
Easy step-by-step instructions to make a delish RumChata White Russian:
Step 1: Dip the rim of your glass in Simple Syrup then coat the rim with Cinnamon Sugar.
This step is optional, but its so good, I wouldnt skip it!
Step 2: Fill your glass with ice.
I filled the glass to the top with ice and as you pour ingredients into your glass, some of it will slightly melt leaving enough room for all the ingredients.
Step 3: Add 1.5 2 ounces of RumChata. I love the taste of RumChata, so I used 2 ounces.
Step 4: Add 1 ounce of cream. You can use Half & Half or if you want your drink even creamier, use Heavy Whipping Cream.
Tip: I do not suggest using milk as its not thick enough to create the creamy texture needed for a good RumChata White Russian.
Step 5: Add a .5 ounce of vodka.
Since RumChata has a lower alcohol content, the vodka gives it the boozy kick it needs.
Step 6: Add 1 ounce of Kahlua or your favorite brand of Coffee Liqueur and stir.
You can use up to 1.5 ounces of Kahlua. I lean towards less coffee liqueur and only used 1 ounce. Kahlua has a strong coffee flavor and too much will overpower the cinnamon flavor from the RumChata.
Step 7: Add additional ice if needed to fill the glass.

As I stated above, there are many ways to enjoy this liqueur. Besides over ice, here are some of my favorite ways:
- Pour a splash into coffee.
- Add a bit to your mug of hot chocolate.
- Use it in homemade cocktail recipes like Snowed-In White Chocolate Hot Cocoa Cocktail and Naughty White Russian.
- For an even stronger drink, mix Rumchata with Irish whiskey.
- Use it as a substitute for other cream liqueurs.
Type Of Glass In This Cider Cocktail
We serve this up as a martini, but you could also serve it in a lowball glass over ice or straight up. While the drink is fairly booze forward, it is pretty forgiving in terms of how it is served.
You are going to get that sweet, creamy, cinnamon toast crunch flavor no matter what vessel you serve it in. I think you could even make a legit drink by serving it in a highball glass and topping off the drink with some extra cider and maybe RumChata.

How To Store Copycat Rum Chata
Unlike storebought RumChata®, this copycat Rum Chata does need to be stored in the refrigerator. We stored it for up to a week, and it was still okay, but the cream did separate from the mixture a bit. So, I would recommend using it within a few days. If you need it to last a little longer, add the rum right before using it.
Exactly What Does Rumchata Taste Like
Rumchata has hints of cinnamon and vanilla and it tastes like a thicker version of regular horchata.
This makes it great for cocktails because you can add some juice or other ingredients to counter the strong flavors if you want something more subtle with your drink.
Rumchata also has a very sweet flavor so you dont have to add in any sugar when making your rumchata drinks.
There is a little bit of alcohol in each drink and it goes down pretty smooth, but you can taste the flavors and aroma of it.

Rumchata is a delicious sweet horchata drink that is also mixed with rum.
It is really just like regular horchata but with some added kick of rum which makes it extra tasty and worth drinking on its own or in mixed drinks.
Rumchata was actually first made by the same people who make Baileys Irish Cream, so you can expect some of the same flavors between these two drinks.
Rumchata and Kahlua are similar in both flavors and consistency which make them both great cream liqueur.
While not everyone would think of mixing their rum with horchata, it is a really good combination that tastes better than youd expect.
Even though rumchata is associated with Mexican-style drinks because of its flavor combination, it was actually made in Wisconsin by Tom Maas.
Many people say the rumchata ingredients have a very similar taste to cinnamon toast crunch and there was even a shot invented with Fireball called Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
