Dano’s Pineapple Jalapeno Tequila

Danos Infused Tequila In Cocktails And Straight

Dano’s Pineapple & Jalapeno Tequila Review

This tequila infused with pineapple and jalapeno peppers can serve two purposes. For cocktails, its a natural choice for making something interesting without being a mixologist. Youve essentially already got three flavors going when you pour it over ice, so it doesnt take much to turn it into a good cocktail. You cant go wrong with just club soda and lime, but you can add something rather neutral like cucumber, add a little sweetness with juice, or enhance a cocktail with aromatic ingredients like mint or rosemary. You probably dont want to add anything peppery though as this infusion already has quite a kick.

I didnt experiment with adding any other spirits and its probably not a great idea, but you could substitute this for plain tequila in most cocktail recipes you find. Or it can make your paloma or margarita more interesting.

You can find some good cocktail recipes on the company website here. I need to try their El Burro Loco with ginger beer and their Agave Maria take on a Bloody Mary looks like it would be a real hit at brunch.

There were only two of us drinking this Danos tequila but we polished off the bottle in what felt like record time. Be careful with this one because the Danos Dangerous Infused Tequila really can be dangerous to the unwary, especially for those who have a high tolerance for chili peppers.

Tasting Danos Dangerous Pineapple And Jalapeno Tequila

Sipping it, the drink does get a little more complex. The sweet pineapple juice is definitely there, but nows the time for the jalapeno to put in an appearance. Its subtle rather than strong, but a good balance, with the jalapeno become more evident on the finish. Oh yes, your throat says, theres the jalapeno, with a pleasing warming sensation.

Pineapple And Jalapeno Tequila Margarita

The obvious tequila cocktail to try is a , so I did. I threw together my usual house margarita, but used this tequila instead. The result was excellent, adding a bit of fire to the sweet and sour of the regular margarita, with a hint of smoky chipotle.

In fact Danos has a margarita recipe on its website for a spicy margarita, pretty similar to what I made. They also suggest using this tequila to make a sangria, as well as El Burro Loco, or the Crazy Donkey, a kind of riff on the Moscow Mule, which also sounds tasty. This tequila should give the drink a bit of a kick, so to speak.

Danos Koko Fashioned Frompaul Jimenez At The Patio At Sloans

Paul raves about Danos Reposado as a lovely, smooth tequila with a beautiful balance of vanilla and agave that lends itself well to an old fashioned style cocktail almost as lovely as the young woman from whom the cocktail gets its name. Danos Tequila is hand-crafted in small batches in the historic town of Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico using time-honored traditional methods, which reminded Paul of the traditional mole sauce he grew up with. Pauls familys recipe always includes Coca-Cola, providing the inspiration for this special cocktail.

Gsn Review: Danos Dangerous Tequila

Founded in Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 2018, Danos Tequila offers a line of 100% agave tequilas, each of which are hand crafted in a family-owned distillery dating back to 1840 in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. Danos award-winning tequilas include its signature Pineapple Jalapeño Infusion as well as a Blanco, Reposado and Anejo. Danos is rooted in a tradition and practice overseen by a fourth generation of family craft distillers.

Danos uses Highlands Weber blue agave pinas, brix tested for sweetness, steamed in a 180-year-old hornos and double distilled in copper stills.

Danos Blanco Visual: Clear.Nose: Fresh, almost fruity, with a bright agave aroma.Taste: Very smooth with marshmallow notes. Clean, creamy mouthfeel.Finish: Medium-short. The flavor that lingers is mainly a light sweetness. Almost like sugar water.Overall: Almost a vodka. Agave flavored vodka, it is. Really approachable for the newbie, but too mild for the aficionado.GSN Rating: B

Danos Reposado Visual: Ultra pale gold, nearly clear.Nose: More oak on the nose, but plenty of agave here as well. Fresh and clean.Taste: The cask flavor comes through and adds a touch of caramel, but retains a sharp bitter edge that adds excitement to the palate.Finish: Medium long. A warming, burnt sugar fade out.Overall: A logical next step in the progression of tequilas. Still young at nine months, but approaching the traditional expected flavor profile.GSN Rating: B+

Danos Dangerous Pineapple And Jalapeno Tequila

This release from Danos isnt a cocktail, its a full-blown tequila well, 36% ABV, so not quite full-strength that has been infused with natural pineapple and jalapeno and is ready to drink or turn into a cocktail. Its made using Danos 100% agave Blanco Tequila.

The first thing to say is that the color is slightly darker than it appears to be in the photos, being more of a dark straw color rather than pale.

When I first came across the combination of pineapple and jalapeno I thought it sounded weird, but far from it. Its one of those matches made in heaven, and whoever first thought of it definitely deserves a pat on the back.

On the nose the pineapple comes over strongly, almost like sniffing a glass of fresh pineapple juice that you might sip at breakfast. Its bursting with those pineapple notes, with lots of creamy vanilla too, but strangely enough theres hardly any hint of earthy agave, nor of jalapeno. Its a tequila that smells more like a fruit juice but dont be fooled!

Travel Distilled Reviews Danos Dangerous Pineapple And Jalapeno Tequila The Only Flavored Tequila In Their Range And Infused With Natural Fruit

I recently reviewed Danos Dangerous Tequila Anejo and described it as one exceptional tequila. A while back I also reviewed a Jalapeno Pineapple Margarita ready-made cocktail in a small bottle from a Texas company called On the Rocks. My verdict on this was that I could drink it all night long , while my wife wanted to know where we could get some more to serve when friends came round. Could this match up to those exceptional drinks?
