Big Whiskey’s Expanding To Las Vegas Nixa Restaurant Also In Works
Springfield-based Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar has started construction on the first of two franchise restaurants in Las Vegas.
The company plans to open the first one in late 2018 or early 2019.
Big Whiskey’s director of marketing Laura Head Elliott also confirmed the company plans to open a Big Whiskey’s restaurant in Nixa.
She said the new restaurant will move into the former Ruby Tuesday location at 715 McCroskey St. She said the company hasn’t yet announced a time frame for the Nixa location to open.
Big Whiskeys Las Vegas franchise owner, Anthony DePasquale, has recently named Brian Mangino as the general manager.
Brians background in the Las Vegas hospitality industry is second to none, DePasqualesaid in a news release. Im thrilled to have him on board for this exciting new venture. Mangino most recently served as the director of operations for Hussong’s Cantina Brand in Las Vegas, facilitating the opening of four full-service restaurants over the last seven years.
Big Whiskeys was recently named as an emerging brand to reboot casual dining in Franchise Times. Big Whiskeys American Restaurant & Bar currently operates six locations in the Southwest Missouri area and one company-owned store in Kansas City. Its first two restaurant franchises in Bentonville, Arkansas, and Kansas City, Missouri, opened in 2017. Additional franchise deals are currently pending in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Texas.

The service was very good and the food was yummy. The atmosphere was interesting. The drinks were very good. It felt very similar to a Applebees.
We were so disappointed! We have never had chicken tenders that were this tough! The fish was even rubbery! They did discount our ticket, but our meal was not a pleasant experience! We will not be visiting there again!
Being in the midst of Covid 19 we were looking for outside patios to have lunch. Cool and shady patio and spaces out as well. We had the chicken nachos for a light lunch.
Great food every time we go there. Also great services highly recommended always on our list for a quick and great place to eat
I have been here twice both times with family and not to watch sports but with all the tvs it is hard not to catch up on what is going on. The service in the bar area was outstanding. The food was good.
Hubby and I stopped by for lunch. I had the Reuben which was really good. He had the club sandwich and said it was good. We both agreed we would go back. Clean and pleasant atmosphere.
Family in town for funeral. Chose BW because of variety. Service was outstanding from beginning to end. Server tried hard to please and wasnt pushy. Ahi tuna was far too salty. Veggie greatRibs were awesome. Big burger was greatWould return.

Big Whiskey’s Plans Another Community Restaurant In Nixa Mo
Big Whiskeys looks to expand their community first approach in Nixa, Missouri with their eighth company-owned store under construction.
After recently celebrating the opening of a second Kansas City-area location in July of this year, the work continues for Big Whiskeys as plans are well underway for the4,600 square-foot stand-alone location in Nixa.
Many people in the community know weve had this property for a while. Were excited to make it official that we will, in fact, be opening a new Big Whiskeys location in my home town, Nixa, announces Co-Founder and Senior VP of Operations, Paul Sundy.
Purchased in November 2016, Big Whiskeys acquired two shuttered Ruby Tuesdays locations in Nixa and Republic, MO. Both properties provided the brand with their first opportunity to open a free-standing location. Tackling the Republic store first, Big Whiskeys opened its doors in August 2017.
The growing restaurant brand is targeting a December opening at 715 McCroskey Street, just in time to raise a toast to the holidays.
Sundy continues, The southwest Missouri community has been so good to us. Weve made a lot of friends over the last 12 years, and those friends are our biggest customers and fans. Im really looking forward to ending 2018 with another grand opening party!

An American Restaurant Origin Story
Small town, middle America is where my grandfather ran a modest corner tavern for almost 30 years and where the Big Whiskeys American Restaurant & Bar story begins. He had his regulars but none quite like the man who came to be known as Big Whiskey.
Big Whiskey only came in a few times a week. He would belly up to the bar and say, Im only going to have one, so make it a big one. Thus, the legend of Big Whiskey was born. As my grandfather tells it, Big Whiskey was the kind of man who always had the right thing to say at the right time, whether it was a joke, story or toast. He was never around long and always left the other patrons longing to hear more.
Im not sure where he is today. He could still be sitting in a tavern somewhere with his one drink in hand, captivating a crowd. Ive come to believe that no matter who you are or where youre from, weve all learned a lesson or two from our own Big Whiskey. So, come on in and raise a glass to your own favorite American legend. Big Whiskey’s Nixa Launches Grand Opening
This weekend, Big Whiskeys launches grand opening festivities for the newest location in Nixa, MO! The brand announced plans for the official opening in early November after renovations were well underway at the former Ruby Tuesdays property, just off of Hwy 160.
Over the last two weeks, the Springfield-based restaurant has been hosting a soft opening in the new location at 715 McCroskey Street in Nixa.
Before Thanksgiving we hosted a couple of friends and family nights so our staff could cook for and wait on familiar faces as part of our training. Weve been open each day since November 16, and were super excited to finally host our grand opening, exclaims general manager, Greg Veach.
The restaurant and bar has been hosting giveaways leading up to this weekend on the Big Whiskeys Nixa Facebook page, and will partner with the Nixa Chamber of Commerce for a Facebook live video Saturday morning during the ribbon cutting. More giveaways will follow, so fans are encouraged to connect on social media for chances to win free meals, Big Whiskeys swag, and more!

Job Posting For Restaurant Server At Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests with in 30 seconds. Make all of our guests feel comfortable and let them know youre there to personally take care of them
- Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders into micros system, double checking to ensure accuracy, which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
- Preform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment
- Maintain clean service areas and prebus tables
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise
- Be ready and willing to assist bus person/hostess with clearing and resetting tables
- Minimum 1 year of service experience
- Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a micros system
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
